Efforts Underway to Help Businesses Plug Vacancies

A new Warwickshire County Council service that is connecting adults with learning disabilities and/or autism to potential job opportunities across different industries – including tourism – is gaining momentum.

Warwickshire Supported Employment Service (WSES) has assisted more than 220 customers in its first six months – 40 per cent of whom are work ready and keen to gain a meaningful job opportunity to showcase their new skills. The service has seen tourism and hospitality businesses such as Studley Castle and Travelodge in Stratford-upon-Avon offering paid employment to individuals who were supported by WSES.

Tours of Draycote Hotel and The Mallory Court Hotel have also taken place for individuals who have expressed an interest in a career in hospitality to find out more about transferable skills between different roles.
