Sky-High Fun at the Midlands Air Festival
From the 30th of May to the 1st of June, Ragley Hall in Alcester hosts the spectacular Midlands Air Festival. Expect hot air balloon launches, aerobatic air shows, firework displays, kids’ rides, model aircraft, food stalls, and much more. It’s a full-on spectacular with something for every age and stage—so keep your eyes on the skies!
Get Creative at the RSC
Spark your child’s imagination at the Royal Shakespeare Company with hands-on workshops and playful storytelling sessions. Little ones can dive into tales with RSC actors, learn puppetry inspired by Shakespeare’s plays, or go all out designing costumes in a full-day creative masterclass. It’s a brilliant way to keep young minds engaged—and maybe even discover a future star in the making.
Meet the Beetles at Stratford Butterfly Farm
Explore a tropical paradise and meet some marvellous mini beasts. The Butterfly Farm’s half-term highlight is a special beetle experience with The Insect Farm on the 28th and 29th of May. Kids can enjoy live beetle demonstrations, daily mini-beast handling at 2:30 pm, and fascinating talks about the butterfly life cycle.
Street Food Meets Culture at Compton Verney
Foodies, rejoice! The Digbeth Dining Club Tour rolls into the stunning grounds of Compton Verney on Saturday, the 31st of May, bringing an epic feast. Expect mouth-watering dishes from Fat Snags, Fireaway Grill, Tacos El Pepe, and Urban Cheesecake, paired with live music and that signature Digbeth buzz. Your ticket also grants access to Compton Verney’s world-class art galleries, making it a perfect blend of food and culture—and it’s a dog-friendly event too!
Step into a Land of Magic at Fairytale Farm
On the Warwickshire border in Chipping Norton, the Once Upon a Unicorn & Dragon event runs from the 24th of May to the 1st of June at Fairytale Farm. Ride unicorns, complete dragon quests, and meet the Unicorn Queen herself! Dress up in your best fairytale outfit, cuddle adorable animals, learn to speak Dragonese, and explore the whimsical Fairy Dell. It’s perfect for mini dreamers with big imaginations.
STEM & Go-Karts at MiCLab Holiday Club
For kids aged 7–16, the Coventry Transport Museum presents a hands-on STEM day on Wednesday, the 28th of May. Young engineers can design, build, and race their own go-karts while learning about teamwork and engineering. Separate sessions for ages 7–10 and 11–16 ensure everyone can get stuck in at the right level.
Flavours for All at Warwick Food Festival
On Sunday, the 1st of June, St Nicholas Park in Warwick fills with flavour and fun for the Warwick Food Festival. With more than 80 traders, live music, face painting, funfair rides, and incredible street food, it’s a feast for the senses—and it’s all free! Grab a picnic blanket and make a day of it.

Patterns, Puzzles & Paint at the British Motor Museum
From the 24th of May to the 1st of June, the British Motor Museum in Gaydon invites you to spot patterns in car design and create your own! Highlights include character-led family tours daily at 11:30 am with costumed chauffeurs and racing drivers, make-your-own pattern paper sessions until 3:30 pm, a crack-the-code trail around the museum, and live art in the Exhibition Hall with featured artist Simon Britnell painting on the 28th of May. All activities are included with standard admission.
May Half-Term Adventures with the National Trust
Baddesley Clinton
Explore the great outdoors at Baddesley this May half-term! Little ones can have a go at cloud watching, creating wild art, or making friends with a bug and seeing how many of the ‘50 things to do before you're 11¾’ can be ticked off. Baddesley’s spring gardens are bursting with colour, the second-hand bookshop is stocked with something for everyone, and there’s plenty of delicious soft scoop ice cream to enjoy in the sunshine.
Packwood House
From winding paths through woodland to wide open spaces, Packwood House is the perfect place for a family day out this May half-term. Head over to the welly walk and have a go at den building, stepping logs and bird spotting before settling in for a picnic on the tennis lawn, surrounded by Packwood’s beautiful gardens.
Coughton Court
Join the team at Coughton Court for a nature-filled half-term adventure. With an ancient bluebell woodland and a natural play area to get muddy in, little ones can let off steam while discovering how many animals they can spot in the gardens using the Creatures of Coughton booklet.
