The Royal Shakespeare Company is pulling out all the stops to honour the Bard with a plethora of activities tailored for all ages.

On the 20th of April, Stratford-upon-Avon will come alive with an awe-inspiring Parade featuring a 12-foot-tall giant wheel and captivating performances by local community members.

For families, the RSC offers engaging workshops delving into the enchanting world of "A Midsummer Night’s Dream," providing a unique opportunity to explore Shakespeare's timeless characters and themes. Additionally, the reopening of The Play’s The Thing exhibition offers a captivating journey through the history of theatre, a must-see for enthusiasts and novices alike.

The theatrical offerings continue with performances of "Love’s Labour’s Lost" at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and "The Buddha of Suburbia" at the Swan Theatre, promising evenings filled with drama and delight.

Stroll Through History with Stratford Town Walk

What better time to join the award-winning Stratford Town Walk than on Shakespeare’s Birthday?

Unearth the secrets of William Shakespeare’s life and times. See his Houses, Schoolroom, Theatres, Holy Trinity Church, and more.

You’ll also hear stories of Stratford’s history through fire, flood & plague, with old-fashioned sayings, medieval medical cures and more. It’s like walking through the pages of history.

The walk starts at 11 am every day (plus 2 pm on Saturdays) from the Swan Fountain on Waterside, near the RST and opposite Sheep Street. The duration is up to 2 hours.

Adult £10, child (8-15yrs) £5, under 8yrs free! 

The fee includes exclusive discounts at selected shops, restaurants, pubs, coffee shops and attractions. E.g. 20% off entry to Shakespeare’s Schoolroom and Birthplace.
